Outcomes and data driven – The success of the Associate Vice President will be measured by how well MCTC meets employer and community needs, and by what our students learn and how prepared they are to enter the workforce. The Associate Vice President will have a proven ability to demonstrate success measures and use data to inform others and make decisions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the President, and as a member of the President’s leadership team, the Associate Vice President will serve as the Associate Chief Academic Officer with the following responsibilities: 

  • Provide quality career and technical education programs and workforce training that respond to the needs of students, employers and the community.
  • Cultivate relationships with employers, the chamber of commerce, trade organizations, labor unions and other professional associations representing industries in which the college offers training.
  • Lead the budgeting process for the career and technical education and workforce activities. Maintain fiscal responsibility in the development and management of unit and divisional budgets.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to the academic deans whose portfolios include career and technical education programs.
  • Supervise development of the Master Academic Plan for the career and technical education and workforce programs of the college.
  • Coordinate the preparation of material relating to career and technical programs and policies for the college catalog, term schedule and other college publications.
  • Provide leadership to ensure timely completion of reports and compliance with standards for both institutional and programmatic accreditation agencies.
  • Organize and manage program advisory committees to provide counsel and guidance to career and technical programs.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree and significant senior-level leadership experience in business, industry, nonprofit or government; OR
  • Master’s Degree and senior-level higher education administration experience at a dean level or above.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing innovative strategic initiatives in a large organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships/partnerships with businesses or industry leaders, employers, economic development leaders, nonprofits and elected officials.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in career and technical education.
  • Evidence of a strong and clear commitment to the value of diversity among students and staff as well as sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of college students.
  • Experience in planning or participating in joint projects with business, government, or educational organizations.
  • Experience in developing, organizing and administering budgets.
  • Ability to build relationships and trust by communicating effectively and acting with integrity.
  • Ability to manage talent development.
  • Ability to foster participatory decision making.
Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree.
  • Senior-level higher education administration experience.
  • Experience in a collective bargaining environment.

Salary Range (7)

The salary range for this position is $77,581 - $124,133. MCTC also provides an excellent package of employee benefits.
